Become an inspirED GO Center mentor and help students reach their higher education and career goals after graduation throughout Arlington, HEB, Kennedale, and Mansfield school districts.

inspirED Mentor Employment Opportunity

inspirED is looking for college eligible students to serve as GO Center mentors at high schools and at community-based centers throughout Arlington, Kennedale and Mansfield. The goal of our GO Center program is to help spread the word about college and career opportunities, create and promote a college-going culture, and encourage junior high and high school students to consider higher education after graduation.

Much of the work our mentors do focuses on assisting students and parents through the college process from start to finish! This includes areas such as ACT/SAT prep and registration, admissions application assistance, college search, career search, financial aid application process and assistance, scholarship search and much, much more. But don’t worry – we’ll provide ample training so that you’re fully prepared! Criminal background checks will be conducted for this position.

Requirements
  • Commitment of 10-15 hours per week
  • Reliable transportation
  • Be enrolled at least half-time per university policy
  • Work-study eligible
Preferred
  • First generation college students
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish)
  • Familiarity with the American higher education system, admissions and financial aid processes
Job Responsibilities
As a part of the job responsibilities, mentors will take part in activities at participating GO Centers by discussing issues such as:
  • Importance of higher education
  • College / trade school selection & admissions processes
  • Financial aid eligibility
  • Coping with demands and challenges in high school
  • College life and academic expectations
  • Academic tutoring, among other areas
